Mohammad Khader
Academic & ResearchMohammad Khader officially joined QatarDebate in early 2021 as a Debate Instructor, having been involved since 2019 as the coach for Team Qatar, a role he held until 2021. His journey in the debate community began in 2015 as a debater, progressing to adjudicating, organizing tournaments, and delivering training workshops both locally and internationally. He has coached teams such as Team Syria for the International Schools Debating Championship (ISDC) in 2018 and CMU-Q for the International University Debating Championship (IUDC) in 2019.
From 2021 to 2022, Mohammad launched and led Path Academy, an initiative aimed at incubating high school students from Qatar, Kuwait, and Oman. Since November 2023, he has been part of the Academic & Research Program at QatarDebate, where he leads the organizing efforts for the International Conference on Debate & Dialogue and oversees the QatarDebate Research Fellowship. Additionally, he coordinates and lectures on Debate and Critical Thinking in the joint master’s program with Ez-Zitouna University, contributing to the design of the curriculum for both debate training and the master’s program.
His research centers on Computational Linguistics, focusing on the creation and annotation of the Munazarat Corpus. Before joining QatarDebate, Mohammad was a Teach For Qatar fellow and educator at the Ministry of Education, bringing valuable teaching experience and insights into educational program development. He also played a leading role in organizing TEDx events in Doha, including TEDxQatarUniversity in 2016, TEDxAlDafnaED in 2017, and TEDxYouth@AlDafna in 2020.
Mohammad holds a master’s degree in Digital Humanities and Societies from HBKU, where his thesis involved developing the first corpus of Arabic debates, as well as a bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering from Qatar University.
