Day 2 Recap of the IUADC 2017

Under the patronage of Her Excellency Sheikha Hind Bint Hamad Al Thani, the Vice Chairman & CEO of Qatar Foundation for Education, Science, and Community Development, QatarDebate–a member of Qatar Foundation – the fourth edition of the International Universities Arabic Debating Championship is contributing towards spreading the art of debate and the cultural exchange of participants.

On the second day of the Championship 87 teams continued their battle at the Qatar National Convention Center. Participants arrived on the 2nd day of the championship with high expectations to debate interesting and contentious motion.

“Al Jazeera Media Network”, media partner for 4th IUADC set up an interactive studio in addition to offering training workshops for the participants.
 
Owing to the distinguished presence of “Al Jazeera Media Network” the prestige of the championship was heightened through a number of activities and events. As the media partner of the championship, Al Jazeera Media Network has set up an interactive studio at the QNCC for QatarDebate. They held a training workshop for the participants in the interactive studio to train the youth on the skills of delivering and reading the news
 
Al Jazeera Media Network also introduced the participants to the different training courses offered by their training center. Mr. Mohammed Al Shahwani, Supervisor Media Director at Al Jazeera training center said, “We are participating at this championship  to introduce the youth participating in the championship to the various and specialized training courses that we offer at the center.” The workshop and interactive studio revealed the talents and skills of the participants.
 
 
Mr. Said Zaroug from Al Jazeera Net said that they are also organising a competition to choose the best news presenter from the participants. The winner of this competition will receive an award.
 
 
Press Conference

A press conference was held at the Media Center, where a number of participating teams from Arab and non-Arabic countries stressed the importance of participating in the fourth International Universities Arabic Debating championship with the aim towards increasing debate skills of participants, exchanging different cultures, and improving the Arabic language proficiency of participating Arab and non-Arabic speakers. 

Debate is indispensable in our daily lives to develop the skills of argumentation between nations, because debate imitates reality in terms of significance and content.

The Championship reflects the message of Qatar Foundation, aimed to unlock human potential by encouraging a culture of constructive dialogue, so as to support the concept of global citizenship, and the leaders of tomorrow.
