Empowering the Next Generation: QatarDebate Concludes Interactive Arabic Summer Camp

QatarDebate Center, a member of Qatar Foundation, successfully concluded its Arabic Summer Debate Camp, hosted at the center's headquarters in Education City from August 10 to 13. The vibrant educational event saw the enthusiastic participation of 30 students aged between 10 and 13 years.

The camp was meticulously designed to suit this specific age group through a series of interactive training sessions and engaging activities. Participants were introduced to the fundamentals of debating in a simplified and accessible manner. The curriculum covered brainstorming, constructing sound arguments, effective presentation, and rigorous discussion, all heavily focused on a "learning by doing" approach.

The concluding day featured a screening of an educational film, which sparked a lively discussion surrounding the concepts and issues it addressed. This was followed by a mini-championship consisting of three rounds, providing a platform for the participants to practically apply their newly acquired skills and experience the thrill of debating in a competitive, yet age-appropriate environment.

The comprehensive training was supervised by coach Farah Al-Harbi, a distinguished graduate of QatarDebate's Elite Academy. She was supported by six champions from the Al-Adaam debate team and prominent university debaters, who actively participated in daily evaluations, offering invaluable feedback and guidance to the young learners.

Mohammed Al-Emadi, one of the assistant coaches, reflected on his journey: "I was previously a participant in the center's programs, and today I return from a different position to contribute to training a new generation. This experience means a lot to me, and I am happy to share with the students some of what I learned from debating."

This initiative falls under QatarDebate's extensive portfolio of summer programs targeting the youth. These programs are dedicated to providing rich opportunities for young minds to discover and practice debating through tailored training courses. Notably, the Arabic camp serves as a seamless extension to the English Summer Camp organized by the center this past July, ensuring that the youth are equipped with formidable debate skills in both Arabic and English.
