QatarDebate, organized the 2nd European Universities Arabic Debating Championship in Istanbul, Turkey, which kicked off on Friday, February 14, for 4 consecutive days. In cooperation with Fatih Sultan Mehmet University, and Ibn Haldun University – Our Strategic partners. The tournament will be held at Ibn Haldun University, which brings together more than 20 teams from different European countries.

Through these tournaments, QatarDebate seeks to spread the culture of debate in Arabic, especially among non-native speakers, as this art is one of the important activities for the practice, learning and teaching of the Arabic language. It plays a role in understanding the customs, traditions and values in Arab societies, in addition to enabling them to communicate culturally and build bridges of positive relations between countries.

In conjunction with the tournament, QatarDebate presented the training program “Adjudication Academy” during the period from 10 to 13 February with the participation of more than 30 judges, under the supervision of a group of trainers. The Academy aims to prepare professional cadres of arbitrators, through practical training workshops that enable them to understand the mechanisms of arbitration such as analyzing the letters of the debaters and building the position of the two teams, methods of managing the debate, and how to deliberate between the arbitrators to determine the results accurately and objectively.
