Laila Al arian
Laila is an Emmy and Peabody Award-winning journalist, filmmaker and the executive producer of Al Jazeera’s flagship U.S investigative documentary program, Fault Lines, which recently received a News & Documentary Emmy nomination for “The Killing of Shireen Abu Akleh” for writing. Laila has more than 15 years of experience in multimedia journalism, including print, digital and video.
Prof. Ilias Bentekas
Prof. Ilias is a Professor of Transnational Law at HBKU, an Adjunct Professor of Law at Georgetown University and Senior Fellow at the Institute of Advanced Legal Studies of the University of London. He has advised international organizations, including UN, CoE, IDEA, OIC, and UNDP and is regularly appointed as arbitrator in international commercial disputes. He has authored more than 200 peer-reviewed articles and 20 books, including ‘International Human Rights Law and Practice’.

Prof. Helga Baumgarten
Prof Baumgarten is a political scientist who works primarily on Palestine, the Middle East , and political transformations in the Arab region, is a faculty member of the Academic Committee for Political Science at Birzeit University and a representative of the German Commission for Scientific Exchange in Palestine. She has many books on the history and politics of the Palestinian national movement after the Nakba.
