Doha – QatarDebate
TOT Academy is being held today till Thursday 28 November; the workshop will be organized and hosted by QatarDebate Center (QD) a member of Qatar Foundation (QF), at student center, Education City. The event will precede the prestigious 5th International Schools Arabic Debating Championship which takes place in March 2020, Doha – Qatar.
During this five-day event, around 10 international trainers from 9 Arabic-speaking and non-Arabic speaking countries, come together to attend a comprehensive training in the debate skills, public speaking, critical thinking, argumentation, motion analysis, and case building.
The Academy features participants from Turkey, Kosovo, Czech Republic, Libya, Lebanon, Kuwait, Oman and Britain.
TOT academy is an initiative of QatarDebate Center to prepare coaches and judges who have high abilities and fully prepared to receive this training and deliver it to the participating teams from their country.
Aisha Al-Nesf, Head of Educational Programs, QatarDebate, said: “This workshop is customized specifically for the new educational institution that are participating for the first time in the 5th International Schools Arabic Debating Championship 2020, or the new trainers that haven’t got any training before in the art of debate”.
Al-Nesf stated that “The workshop is aiming to empowering the trainers with the required skills and information in the art of debating and its rules and adjudicating and enhancing their abilities to offer the necessary training to the participating students”.
