Day 3 Recap of the IUADC 2017

Under the patronage of Her Excellency Sheikha Hind Bint Hamad Al Thani, the Vice Chairman & CEO of Qatar Foundation for Education, Science, and Community Development, QatarDebate–a member of Qatar Foundation – the fourth edition of the International Universities Arabic Debating Championship is contributing towards the spread of the art of debate and cultural exchange of participants.

The program on the third day of the championship entailed announcing the top 16 teams, then the quarter-finalists, and eventually the semi-finalist. Today also witnessed a final debate between the top teams that have Arabic as a second language, namely, Sciences Po- Paris & Universiti Sains Islam – Malaysia. They later attended a press conference at the media center.

The two teams agreed that the art of debate is an important aspect our delay lives, whilst thanking and appreciating QatarDebate for organizing the championship, and its endless support to teach Arabic to non-Arabic speakers. 

Two teams from Qatar University – Boys and Girls – qualified to the octo-finals, in addition to 14 teams from participating countries. 

Participants from the top 16 qualifying teams agreed that all debate rounds were very competitive and every team was keen on winning each and every round, by presenting sound arguments for thought-provoking motions.
