Being a judge at our competitions is an extremely important task, without judges our tournaments can’t run. The quality of your decisions also makes a big difference on the experience of our students. As such, QatarDebate has designed a rigorous training program to help develop our judges. Our training program is divided into three phases: Beginners, Intermediate & Advanced. This Intermediate session is for those who have completed the Beginners Session.

Learning Objectives:

• The adjudicators will get the opportunity to deliberate on identified common adjudication errors by discussing them as a group with the trainer leading the discussion towards the right responses
• The adjudicators will have understood how to correctly mark speeches by looking at all components of a speakers speech i.e. Argumentation, Refutation, Style, Strategy & POIs
• They will have an understanding of how to contribute in the panel discussion and agree on speaker points and the results
• The adjudicators will have understood the educational purpose of feedback and how certain steps need to be followed to be able to effectively give constructive feedback
