This three day training is designed to assist health professionals from various sectors and spheres in improving communication about their work, both internally with their peers, colleagues and superiors, but also externally – towards the public.
One of the keys to success is being able to communicate persuasively about things that matter, and policy advocacy is one of the modern world methods of bridging the gap between experts and laymen, or service providers and their clients/customers. This training was able to assist the participants in conveying their opinions and experience using interactive exercises, handouts and theory on argumentation, debating, public speaking and policy advocacy.

Core Training Delivery:

3 Day Specialized Training which includes 7 sessions
- Public Speaking - Do's and Don'ts
- Introduction to debate
- Argumentation, Fallacies & Rhetorical Self-defense
- Debating Key issues in Healthcare
- (Mis) Communication & Constructive Criticism
- The Power of Language - the Art of Persuasion
- Introduction to Policy Advocacy

Learning Benefits:

At the end of the training, participants would have developed a clearer understanding of how to communicate about work and its challenges as well as potential; they will be ready to engage in public debates and discussions, having a clear personal mission and key message; higher awareness of communication style and how it impacts different audiences; and confidence in delivering public speeches and in expressing views.
